A static study comprises the type of Load-bearing Structure used in each given construction (concrete, steel, timber, masonry) and the arrangement, positions, number and dimensions of its structural elements (slabs, beams, columns, walls, foundations).

It calculates, among others, the behavior of the structure during permanent loads as well as during possible seismic actions.

The Static Study is mainly carried out using specialized computer software, following strictly a specific framework and design code.
